Prosecutors allege that Jose Romero raped a 6-year-old child and paid her in change to keep the crime a secret from her parents. (Snip: District Attorney’s Office in Suffolk County)
On Thursday, a man in New York pled guilty to raping a 6-year-old girl and paying her in pocket change to keep quiet about it. On May 12 a judgment will be handed out concerning Jose Romero, 34.
“This defendant preyed upon the innocence and vulnerability of a young child to satisfy his own heinous desires,” stated Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney. The defendant was brought to justice because, thankfully, she had the guts to come forward and testify before the Grand Jury.
The little girl will not be subjected to further victimization by having to face her attacker in court thanks to this plea deal.
