Kim Burrell, a gospel musician, has come under fire for recent participation at a church service. During a sermon at one of Brian Carn’s Kingdom City Church locations, the 49-year-old Houston musician, who has worked with Mariah Carey, Frank Ocean, and JAY-Z, was caught addressing churchgoers’ appearances and financial circumstances.
People who were upset by Burrell’s remarks have taken to social media to express their outrage over the sermon footage that went viral after she delivered it, in which she also praised listeners for “living in faith” by not wearing face masks or getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

A video clarifying that the original post was written by an “attorney” was posted later that day, after which she erased her apologies and released the video already mentioned.

It’s not a matter of wealth or rank. It all boils down to making a decision.”

“Please invite me to your church so we may meet up and see each other face to face. The cost of my services isn’t as high as you might think. There may have been some money left over from your PPP loan. You know the power of prayer, praise, and adoration. Amen.”
