On November 14, 1972, Joshua David Duhamel was born in Minot, North Dakota. His father is an advertising salesman, and his mother was a teacher who also had a small business in the area. He grew up with his three sisters, Ashlee, Kassidy, and Mckenzie, living with their mother after his parents split when he was a small child.
But he has also maintained a close relationship with his father. Duhamel is of French-Canadian, English, Irish, German, Norwegian, and Austrian ancestry.
