Christian Jackson McCaffrey was born in Castle Rock, Colorado, on June 7, 1996. McCaffrey is the son of Lisa McCaffrey, a former Stanford soccer standout, and Ed McCaffrey, a former wide receiver for Stanford and the NFL.
McCaffrey was taken by the Carolina Panthers as the eighth overall choice in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Following the fourth-overall pick Leonard Fournette, he was the second running back selected.
