Authorities said on Friday that two brothers have been charged with the murder of a man who was 29 years old and who was shot in Newark earlier this year.
According to acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, Dequan and Uquan Meadows, twins from Newark who are 24 years old, have been charged with murder and conspiracy in connection with the death of Boubacar Doukoure, a resident of Jersey City who was 29 years old.
Doukoure was discovered unresponsive in a parking lot in the 100 block of Clinton Avenue in Newark on the evening of January 24 at approximately 5:30 p.m., and he was declared dead at the scene, according to Stephens.
In addition to this, the brothers were charged with two separate firearms charges. According to the prosecutor, they were being held in jail as of Friday.
