Officials in New Jersey are calling the discovery of 180 animals living in filth at a single property over the weekend one of the worst incidents of animal hoarding they have ever seen.
Since the story’s release, donations have started pouring in.
On Arrowhead Park Drive in Brick, two ladies were taken into custody for allegedly running a puppy mill. The police were alerted to the house by an anonymous tip.

Even on Monday, the air had a lingering stench of something foul. For the scores of workers who had to clear up the single-family ranch home over the weekend, it was a veritable house of horrors.
When crews arrived, they wore hazardous suits to protect themselves from the animals kept in cages inside the house.
135 dogs and 45 cats were discovered living in squalor, with feces piling up everywhere.
Two of the dogs were found dead, while others need immediate veterinary attention.
Since the house was searched over the weekend, a few additional animals have been brought to shelters in Ocean County.
There was a 16-year-old living there, therefore Aimee Loncesk, 49, and Michele Nycz, 58, have been charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and endangering a child.
As Ocean County Health Department official Brian Lappai put it, “we’ve never seen anything like these types of numbers, we were all overwhelmed that this amount of animals was coming to our facility.”
The Ocean County Health Department has dealt with large numbers of cat hoarders before, but nothing like this.
Since the pets are evidence in a legal dispute, they cannot be adopted just yet.
However, authorities are still soliciting donations of dog and cat beds and toys for the animals who are now receiving the care they deserve.
