The vast majority of respondents to a recent survey agreed that Trump’s remarks about the Constitution were grounds for disqualification.

According to the results of a recent survey, more than half of Americans believe that the fact that former President Trump has advocated for the termination of the election procedures outlined in the Constitution should preclude him from competing for the White House in 2024.

A poll that was conducted by Quinnipiac University and published on Wednesday found that among registered voters, 51% believe that the recent comments made by the former president should disqualify him from running for president in 2024, while 40% believe that he should not be disqualified over the matter.

According to a breakdown of the opinions based on political affiliation, 86 percent of Democrats and 52 percent of independents believe that the words should disqualify him, while only 17 percent of Republicans share this opinion.

Shortly after the November midterm elections, which produced disappointing results for the GOP and defeats in important contests by some of Trump’s top endorsees, Trump stated his intention to run for president again in 2024.

In an argument published on Truth Social at the beginning of this month, President Trump claimed that the presidential election in 2020 was the site of “a Massive Fraud” that “allows for the termination of all laws, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.

“Our wonderful ‘Founders’ did not want false and fraudulent elections, and they would not have condoned them!” Trump had written it.

His assertions were in response to the recent conversation over how Twitter handled a 2020 New York Post article about President Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

Trump has made attempts to take back his statements and has insisted that he was not advocating for the abolition of the Constitution.

However, in another piece that he penned, the former president stated that “if an election is irrefutably illegitimate, it should go to the rightful winner or, at the very least, be rerun.”

When it comes to situations in which fraud is obvious and flagrant, there should be no time restriction for making changes!

The Quinnipiac poll indicated that Trump’s favorability has reached new lows with both Republican supporters and voters in general, with only 31 percent of Americans saying that they have a favorable view of the former president. This finding is consistent with other findings from the study.

The survey was conducted between December 8 and December 12 and included responses from 1,456 registered voters in the United States. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.
