Texas Food Stamps Schedule: Payments for the Lone Star Card Will Be Mailed Out in February 2023

Low-income households who adhere to the program’s standards can increase their monthly shopping budget with the aid of SNAP, formerly known as food stamps.

SNAP payments are administered by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and are given to Texas Lone Star Card holders once a month. Texas will pay its recurring installments in February.

You will start getting Texas SNAP food benefits when your Eligibility Determination Group number’s last digit, which is 2, is zero, is entered.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission assigns you a number when you submit a SNAP application. Benefits are deposited onto Lone Star Cards over 15 days starting on the first of each month.

The Texas Lone Star Card SNAP benefit schedule for February 2023 is as follows:

# SNAP EDG: Possible advantages:
0 Feb. 1st
1 Feb. 3rd
2 Feb. 5th
3 Feb. 6th
4 Feb. 7th
5 Feb. 9th

SNAP eligibility is based on the number of people living in the home, their gross income, their net income, and their assets.

In Texas, a family of four can earn up to $3,816 per month before they lose their benefits. The most a family of the same size can get from SNAP is $939 per month.

At YourTexasBenefits.com, people who live in Texas can fill out an online application. If you want to fill out a paper application by hand, you can either download one or ask your local SNAP office to send you one.

You can give your completed paper application to the Texas SNAP benefits office in person, by mail, by fax, or in person.

When you use your Texas Lone Star Card, you have more ways to save money. For example, SNAP users in Texas can get Amazon Prime EBT at a 50% discount, which saves them $6.99 per month.

Through the Museums for All program, you can also use your Texas Lone Star Card to get free or discounted admission (up to $3.00) to hundreds of museums, aquariums, and zoos across the country.

Texas SNAP benefits can be used to buy most foods and seeds and plants to grow food at supermarkets, retailers, or any store with a Lone Star Card sign. You can’t use SNAP benefits too:

  • Buy Tobacco
  • Buy alcoholic drinks
  • Buy things you can’t eat or drink
  • Pay for food bills you owe
  • Buy hot meals intended for immediate consumption

You can purchase hot meals prepared in restaurants under the SNAP Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) in several states. One of the states is not Texas.

Your Texas Lone Star Card may also be used to make purchases online. A smart location to check for authorized retailers is online.

Farmers’ markets, Fresh for Less mobile markets, and curbside delivery offer twice as much to SNAP recipients.
