BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — Around fifty shots were fired, according to the police, at a parking lot in Brooklyn Center on Sunday evening, resulting in the injuries of six youths.
Officers were reportedly dispatched to the 5600 block of Brooklyn Boulevard, which is located close to Northpoint Park, at approximately 6:45 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of a shooting in the area.
Although there were no victims present, the crime scene contained dozens of spent shot casings from three distinct types of guns.
In the end, six individuals presented themselves at North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, all of whom had injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
A representative for North Memorial has stated that all of the victims are younger than 18 years old.
As of late Sunday night, there had been no arrests made; however, police stated that investigators “had multiple active leads” in their investigation.
They feel that this was not an act of random violence and assert that there is no danger to the general public.
