According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Rutgers University police, a 42-year-old driver from Iselin was charged with a crime hours after a wrong-way, hit-and-run incident killed a 21-year-old student at Rutgers University.
Max Spivak, a resident of Old Bridge, was killed in the crash just before 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway at the boundary between Piscataway and New Brunswick.
Ciccone stated that Nageswar Polamuri was located on Thursday evening and charged with second-degree leaving the scene of a deadly motor vehicle accident.
At the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where Spivak was pronounced dead, he was transported.
According to the CTR website and Spivak’s personal Instagram, Spivak grew up in Marlboro and was very involved with CTR Soccer, first as a young athlete and most recently as a master trainer in the exclusive youth sports programme.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he was a senior at Rutgers and a Sports Management major.
