Authorities say a scooter rider was murdered Saturday, April 8 on Route 495 in Hudson County after being hit by a fuel truck.
Prosecutor Esther Suarez of Hudson County stated that the Transporo motor-scooter rider was hit around 3:45 p.m. while attempting to merge onto the westbound ramp for Route 495 from the intersection of JFK Boulevard and 32nd Street.
According to the police report, a motor scooter crashed into the passenger-side rear tires of a Freightliner gasoline truck. Suarez said that the truck and its driver fled the scene but were later located nearby.
The identity of the scooter has not been made public.
This incident is currently being looked into by the North Bergen Police Department and the Hudson County Regional Accident Investigation Unit. So yes, police have been unable to make any arrests.
