Opinions: There is “No Evidence” That Offshore Wind Turbines in New Jersey and New York Are Killing Whales.

There is “no proof” that site preparation work for offshore wind farms in New Jersey and New York is to blame for a recent rash of whale deaths, environmental and fishing groups said Tuesday in Atlantic City.

Some of the most prominent environmental groups in New Jersey recently held a press conference on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, right in front of the office of an offshore wind company, to voice their support for the industry and dispel what they see as a false narrative that the testing activities of the said industry are harming or killing whales.

After Clean Ocean Action, one of New Jersey’s leading coastal environmental groups, held a news conference last week with several community groups opposed to offshore wind, calling on President Biden to investigate the deaths of seven whales in the two states in a little over a month, the issue became contentious.
