In an Instagram post after her breakup with Nayte Olukoya, the former Bachelorette star says she’s “happier.” Three pictures of Young alone had a simple, one-word caption. She also posted the photo series with the song “Good Vibes” by Ayah the Light on her Instagram story.
In the comments, Bachelor Nation stars like Rachel Recchia, Rachael Kirkconnell, Susie Evans, Mari Pepin, Becca Kufrin, and Love Is Blind’s Natalie Lee (who has recently been linked to Bachelorette alum Blake Moynes) praised Young’s new look and happiness.
Even Jesse Palmer, who is now the host of The Bachelorette, said, “Happy looks good on you!”
The post isn’t Young’s first since she broke up with her boyfriend, but it is one of the first in which she talks about how she feels. Young and Olukoya said they were breaking up in June, six months after they told everyone about their relationship.
“It’s hard for me to say that Nayte and I will be going our separate ways, but I stand with him knowing that this relationship has been very real for both of us,” she wrote in an Instagram story.
She also said to Olukoya, “I will always want you to do well.”
Young continued her statement by saying, “I will always remember and be grateful for the adventures, support, and growth that both Nayte and this experience have given me.” “At the same time, I’m hurting a lot and will need time and space to get over this.”
Young has only just come out about the breakup. In July, she was on The Ben and Ashley I’m Almost Famous Podcast, where she said she had no idea the engagement would end.
Young said, “I will say that I didn’t see this coming, and I’ll leave it at that.”
Young and Olukoya were the first people of color to get engaged on any Bachelor show. This made them famous. There were rumors that Olykoua had cheated on Young, but he denied them in his own Instagram Story and said, “Not every breakup needs to have someone to blame.”
