Manager of The Season in The Premier League 2022: Full Shortlist, from Guardiola to Frank, and When the Award Will Be Announced!

The Premier League Manager of the Season has not been in charge of the eventual winners since 2013-14. Tony Pulis, who took over from Ian Holloway in mid-November and guided Crystal Palace to 11th place, said that.

It means that Pep Guardiola, whose Manchester City won on the last day of the season, would be the favorite to win the award for the third time in four years.

Palace, on the other hand, has put its hat in the ring once again, with Patrick Vieira among the nominations. Eddie Howe and Thomas Frank, who is known for keeping Newcastle and Brentford in the Premier League, are joined by Jurgen Klopp, whose Liverpool team finished second.

The Season Came to An End.

Before the season ended, all nominations were shortlisted, with a fan vote that goes into the ultimate choice concluding on May 16th, while the championship, top-four standings, and relegation spots were still up in the air.

The Inclusion of Eddie Howe.

Eddie Howe’s inclusion in the debate among the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp is a remarkable success in and of itself, particularly considering that he only had half as much time to make an effect on the Premier League, which may have skewed the results.

Of course, there was a public vote, which Howe was obviously leading only days before the announcement, but the public vote only counted for 5% of the final tally, which raises the question: why bother?

So, although we can’t celebrate having the official Manager of the Season, try convincing any Newcastle supporter that Howe wasn’t stolen. He may not have won the prize, but he has won the hearts of the Toon Army, and who knows what the future holds for him. That accolade might be headed to St James’ Park next season.

I write picture books, for middle grade, and young adults, some of which have won prizes, been filmed, or become bestsellers. I've ghostwritten for Pixar and developed teen work for Alloy Entertainment. I think heartfelt writing is the finest. It doesn't have to be personal, but it must be visceral. You want them riveted from the first word, page, or sentence, no matter how painful or unpleasant, and that's my expertise.
