On July 19, 1968, James Joseph Norton Jr. made his debut into the world in Bayonne, New Jersey. His mother worked as a librarian, while his father was a truck driver for the United States Postal Service. He has a sibling who goes by the name of Tracy.
Jim’s childhood was marked by quite a few challenges. At the age of 13, he began drinking excessively, and by the time he was a senior in high school, he had dropped out. He entered rehab after a failed suicide attempt.
After maintaining his abstinence for the subsequent three years, Jim was able to achieve his GED (he has been sober ever since).
After that, he pursued his dream of becoming an attorney by enrolling in the law program at Middlesex County College. He left school after only one month of attendance. After that, Jim got a job operating forklifts at a warehouse.
In April of 1990, he began performing stand-up comedy for the first time at an open mic. Since he was 12 years old, he had the ambition of becoming a stand-up comedian.

Jim made a guest appearance on an episode of “The Louie Show” hosted by Louie Anderson in the year 1997. Andrew “Dice” Clay witnessed the appearance, and immediately became a supporter of the athlete.
Jim and Andrew first crossed paths at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles not long after that event had a place. Andrew extended an invitation to Jim to accompany him on the road as a touring opener. They would go on to collaborate in the workplace for a total of three years.
A Career in Radio of Jim Norton
It was through Dice that Jim was first made aware of the “Opie & Anthony” radio show, which was broadcast all over the United States during the late 1990s and early 2000s and enjoyed a great deal of success.
