In a key matchup between the top-10 Big Ten teams, No. 6 Indiana defeated No. 2 Ohio State 78-65 to win the league title. at least right now.
The Hoosiers outscored Ohio State 27-6 in that decisive third quarter to win handily. At one point, they even scored 17 straight points.
With 26 and 20 points, respectively, Mackenzie Holmes and Yarden Garzon were the Hoosiers’ top scorers. Holmes only needs 13 shots to record her fourth game in a row with at least 25 points.
Indiana improved to 19-1 overall and 9-1 in the Big Ten with the victory.
Ohio State’s record fell to 19-2 and 8-2, and they are now tied with Maryland for second place in the league behind Iowa (16-4 overall, 8-1 Big Ten).
The Buckeyes appeared to be in charge early on in the game by upping the tempo and forcing errors, which led to 11 points being scored in transition. But that wasn’t for very long.

After going 19-0 to open the season, the finest start in school history, Ohio State has now dropped two straight games. In the meantime, the Hoosiers have won five straight games against their fourth-ranked opponent.
