Officers were active in the neighborhoods between the 1500 and 1700 blocks of Atlantic Avenue, as well as South Carolina and Baltic Avenues, in response to ongoing complaints from the public and business owners over illegal drug trades and quality of life issues.

Three hours later, while patrolling the area of South Carolina and Baltic Avenues, officers spotted two individuals engaged in what appeared to be a drug transaction.
Then, around 9:45 p.m., two more guys were allegedly observed by police in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue engaging in what is believed to be a drug transaction.

- Rafi Neal, 39, of Atlantic City, NJ, has been arrested.
ACCUSATIONS: two charges of CDS possession, two counts of CDS possession with intent to distribute, CDS distribution within 500 feet of a public building, and CDS distribution within 1,000 feet of a school.
- Mark McLaughlin, 32, of Atlantic City was arrested.

All the detainees were given court dates and released on summonses.
Due to the existence of outstanding warrants for his arrest, Neal was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
