It’s official: CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two males from out of town have been arrested on suspicion of rape in a Loretto Borough residence.
A sexual assault allegedly occurred in February 2022 at a home party, and the Loretto Borough Police Department didn’t find out about it until July 2022. Both Marcel Mami, 20, of Maryland, and Daunte White, also 20, of New Jersey, are being investigated as potential suspects.

In an interview with police in August, the woman said that she felt Mami tap her shoulder and hear him speak “vulgar or provocative remarks” before being led down the basement by Mami’s hand. She claimed she was too inebriated to focus on the situation at the moment.
Once she reached the basement, she said Mami pulled her down face first, leaving bruises. She told police officers she got to her knees and looked up to see White in front of her and Mami behind her before she finally stood up.
Both White and Mami are accused of assaulting her at this time. Police reported that White raped Mami while forcing himself into her mouth.
She said police she was in excruciating discomfort and unable to move because of where she was held.

Rape, conspiracy to commit rape, forced compulsion, and unlawful restraint are all charges against Mami. After he was unable to raise $10,000 of his $75,000 cash bond on Tuesday, he was taken into custody and imprisoned in the Cambria County Prison.
White has been charged with IDSI (involuntary deviant sexual intercourse), IDSI conspiracy, IDSI forcible coercion, and IDSI unlawful restraint. On Tuesday, he was transferred to Cambria County Prison after he failed to pay $10,000 of his $75,000 cash bond.
The preliminary hearings for both cases are set for February 8.
