Anisha Marie Lockhart, 27, was taken into custody on Wednesday by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with a tragic hit-and-run accident that occurred in San Pedro earlier this month and resulted in the death of a 51-year-old bicyclist.
Through the use of its video camera, a nearby establishment on March 4 filmed the incident that occurred at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Channel Street. Oscar Montoya was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a car at approximately 12:40 a.m., which caused him to fall off of it and then crash into a fence.
The incident was captured on video. The car came to a stop for a brief period of time before continuing on.

“On March 7… individuals submitted clues that led detectives to the suspect’s vehicle, a 2009 Scion XB,” police stated in their statement.
“The vehicle was brought into custody.” Anisha Lockhart was caught by detectives from the South Traffic Division on March 9, using resources available to the department as well as information provided by members of the community.
Joshua Montoya, son of Oscar Montoya, stated that watching the security video of the deadly collision made his father’s wrath boil during the news conference that was held on Wednesday to announce the arrest.

According to Oscar Montoya’s son, his father was injured while he was picking up an order from a food truck when the accident occurred.
It is said that Lockhart was under the influence at the time of the collision, which took place while he was leaving one bar and heading to another.

After being arrested, Lockhart was charged with a criminal offense, and she was being held on a bail of $100,000.
Oscar Montoya was pronounced dead at the site by the attending paramedics.
