On Wednesday afternoon, a man who was suspected of driving carelessly led authorities with the California Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County before eventually being brought into the jail.
The pursuit started at approximately 3:15 in the afternoon in the northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway in Hollywood.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the dark-colored sedan refused to pull over for a traffic stop, which is where the pursuit started.
The driver accelerated to speeds greater than one hundred miles per hour when he entered the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway and then sped off.
The pursuit continued until it reached the Lebec area at approximately 4:00 p.m., where a CHP officer executed a PIT maneuver on the car that was successful.
Sky 5 camera shows the driver of the vehicle jumping out of the vehicle and dashing across busy lines of traffic on the 5 Freeway, narrowly avoiding being hit by an oncoming vehicle. A short while later, he was brought into jail by the authorities.
