MARION COUNTY, Iowa — On Friday morning, the body of a Des Moines man who had been reported missing earlier in the week was discovered close to Beech.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the body of Alan Conley, age 76, was discovered inside his pickup truck in a bean field. At this time, there is no reason to assume that Conley’s death was the result of any kind of foul play.

Monday, February 6th was the day when the Des Moines Police Department was notified that Conley was missing.
The Des Moines Police Department said that the last time they saw Conley, he was driving a silver 2002 Chevy S-10 pickup after leaving his residence.
It was also said that Conley suffered from medical concerns that interfered with his awareness and necessitated the use of medication.
A complaint of an abandoned truck in a bean field was brought to the attention of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Friday morning at approximately 8:42 a.m.

After arriving on the scene, the sheriff and a deputy discovered that Conley had already passed away.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has not stopped looking into the circumstances surrounding Conley’s passing.
