In 1966, when he was only four years old, King made his theatrical debut. He hosted Radio Clyde’s flagship Saturday morning programme, “King’s Clyde Countdown,” and midday programme, “The Lunchtime Show,” when he was just 17 years old.

A full two years passed before he finally made it onto television. In 1988, King hosted a spinoff of The Krypton Factor for kids called Young Krypton on CITV. King worked for GMTV as their Los Angeles correspondent from 1993 until 2010.

Since September of 2010, he has served as the LA correspondent for Daybreak and Lorraine, the shows that replaced GMTV. Since Good Morning Britain took over for Daybreak in 2014, King has remained in his post as the LA correspondent for the show.

After relocating to Los Angeles in 2000, he got parts in films starring Steven Seagal and the 2004 release The Day After Tomorrow before entering a reality TV competition hosted by KTLA to find a new weather presenter.
