Early Life.
Riggle is the son of Sandra (a nurse) and Robert Allen (an insurance agent) Riggle, and he was born in Louisville, Kentucky.
When he was two years old, his family relocated to Overland Park, Kansas. Â He was active in Shawnee Mission South High School’s radio and television programs. He graduated from high school in 1988 after being chosen as the most hilarious.
Career.
After graduating from pilot training in 1990, Riggle enlisted in the Marines with the goal of becoming a naval aviator. However, he ultimately decided to pursue a career in stand-up comedy instead.

Throughout the late ’90s and early ’00s, Riggle, Huebel, and the rest of the cast of Respecto Montalban appeared in sketches on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. As the summer of 2004 progressed, the pair’s rising profile led to an audition for Saturday Night Live. Together they tried out, but only Riggle was chosen.
Riggle joined Huebel and many of his other Respecto Montalban co-stars in Los Angeles shortly after his 2004–2005 season on Saturday Night Live. Soon after, in early 2006, the duo signed a holding deal with NBC to create a half-hour comedy series that ultimately was never produced.
