According to the Nashville Police Department, Michelle Branch was detained for domestic abuse. Branch was arrested after announcing her separation from Patrick Carney, the drummer for “The Black Keys,” after three years of marriage. TMZ was the first to disclose the arrest; they also said that court paperwork showed Branch had smacked Carney “one to two times.” The judge decided to grant Branch $1,000 in bail.

Who Is Michelle Jacquet?
American singer-songwriter-guitarist Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch was born on July 2, 1983. She had two successful albums in the early 2000s with The Spirit Room and Hotel Paper. She and Santana’s 2002 track “The Game of Love” received the Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
Beginning in the early months of 2001, she began her career as a solo recording artist when she signed with Madonna’s Maverick record company. Her first album, The Spirit Room, was released in the fall of 2001.

Early Life.
Branch was born to David and Peggy Branch on July 2, 1983, in Sedona, Arizona. Her mother is of Dutch and Indonesian (“Indo”) heritage, and her father is Irish. During World War II, her grandmother on her mother’s side was detained in a Japanese internment camp. It was in the Netherlands where Branch’s mother was born, therefore after the war, she relocated there. When her mother was five years old, her family uprooted and settled in Arizona.
Career.
Branch’s parents encouraged her pursuits, from assisting with local Sedona gig booking to funding her debut self-released CD, Broken Bracelet. Sheryl Crow, Lisa Loeb, Jewel, and Fleetwood Mac covers were among the many on her set list during these performances.
She gained the attention of pop rock band Hanson and former Rolling Stone writer and Los Angeles record producer Jeff Rabhan after posting two of her songs to the Rolling Stone website in December 1999. This led to two opening slots for Hanson in 2000.
Personal Life.
Branch had a daughter in August 2005 after marrying her bass guitarist Teddy Landau (born in 1964) in Mexico on May 23, 2004. Branch and Landau divorced in November of 2015, after their separation in 2014.
The branch began dating Patrick Carney of the Black Keys in 2015 after the two met at a Grammy after-party. The couple dated throughout the filming of Hopeless Romantic. Branch and her daughter have been living in Carney’s Nashville residence since 2017. Branch and Carney welcomed their son in August of 2018. The family of four (two kids and two Irish wolfhounds) called Nashville home.

Branch and Carney Tied the Knot?
On April 20, 2019, Branch and Carney tied the knot. She said she had a miscarriage in December of 2020. Both “The Spirit Room” and “Hotel Paper” were huge commercial successes for Branch, propelling her to stardom as a singer-songwriter in the early 2000s. This year marks the 20th anniversary of her breakthrough track “Everywhere,” which appeared on her debut album.
‘The Game of Love,’ a duet between Branch and Santana, was nominated for a Grammy in 2022 and won the award for best pop collaboration with vocals. Branch’s upcoming fourth studio album, titled “The Trouble with Fever,” is set for release on September 16. The musician will be performing at Webster Hall in New York City on a tour this fall.
