The BTS squad would not have been the same without Kim Jong-Hyun. On December 18th, 2017, at the age of 27, he took his own life in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. On the afternoon of the 18th, he finally made it back to his flat. His older sister, Kim So-dam, discovered his body in the apartment at 4:42 p.m.
After learning that his brother had committed suicide, she contacted 911. His sister claims that Jong-Hyun wanted to end his life by suicide since he had communicated his thoughts to her in a series of text messages that included phrases like “final goodbye,” “say I did well,” etc. At 6:10 p.m., police were called to a condo where they found Jong-Hyun unresponsive. He was then sent to the Konkuk University Hospital. Also, he had CPR for cardiac arrest, but he never regained consciousness.
