The US Marshals Service and the New York City Police Department made an arrest of a wanted man from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, on March 15, 2023, at 10:10 a.m., according to an announcement made by the authorities the following day.
Jarell Stanley Cherry, age 40, was wanted on an active arrest warrant for “acts involving kidnapping and aggravated assault with a firearm,” according to the original release made by Chambersburg police on Friday, February 3, 2023. The sentence read: “acts involving kidnapping and assault with a firearm.”

According to the most recent court docket, Cherry has been charged with felony kidnapping to facilitate a felony, felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony strangulation, and felony possession of a firearm prohibited.
He is also facing misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, misdemeanor terroristic threats, and two counts of misdemeanor assault.
According to the court documents, he has been convicted of carrying marijuana on many occasions in the counties of Washington, Lehigh, and Franklin, with the first of these convictions dating back to the year 2004.
According to earlier court dockets, in 2011 he was also found guilty of participating in a criminal conspiracy involving the manufacturing, delivery, possession, or intent to make or distribute of a controlled substance and received a term of probation for a period of forty-eight months.
