The United States Coast Guard announced on Monday that authorities are searching for two individuals who set sail from New Jersey aboard a sailboat that is thirty feet long and is “late” for its arrival in Florida.

According to the Coast Guard, Kevin Hyde, 64, and Joe DiTommasso, 76, went missing after setting sail from Cape May aboard a Catalina sailboat known as the “Atrevida II.”

The two were last seen on December 3, when the vessel departed from Oregon Inlet, which is located in North Carolina.

The officers from the Coast Guard had a hunch that the boat may have made a stop in Morehead City, North Carolina, although they emphasized that this is not proven.
