The Wilds Season 3 Will Not Air on Prime Video: This Raises the Issue of Why the Show Was Cancelled!

Season two of The Wilds premiered on Prime Video in May, and since then, viewers have been binge-watching the entire series in anticipation of a third season. The Wilds’ own actors have chimed in to express their desire for a third season.

Season 2 continued right where season 1 left off, with a group of teenage girls stranded on an island after a plane crash. Season 2 did deliver on the promise of the season 1 finale by introducing us to the second group of boys who were also stranded and being monitored as part of the elaborate social experiment.

Amazon renewed The Wilds for a second season a week after the first episodes premiered, demonstrating the show’s strong reception on Prime Video. The second time around, however, it wasn’t so well received. As a matter of fact, Deadline announced the show’s cancellation at the end of July 2022.

Actress Shannon Berry, who plays Dottie, confirmed the news on her Instagram Stories and expressed her sadness, writing: “Dottie, you have made the past four years so much more enjoyable. This unsinkable will always be in my heart.” Mia Healy, who plays Shelby, also paid homage to her character and shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, writing:

“Shelby, you have my undying affection. I will always remember you and how you impacted my life. I can’t express how grateful I am.” According to Deadline, the cancellation of The Wilds can be attributed to the fact that its second season failed to generate the same level of excitement as the first.
