Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — The public is invited to take part in the Inauguration of the Governor.
The Inaugural Committee has begun holding a number of contests. The winning entries will be displayed at the Governor’s Mansion and at the Inauguration.

“We are happy to introduce our interactive Contest Series to enable Pennsylvanians to get involved in this Inauguration and highlight the best of what our Commonwealth has to offer,” said Amanda Warren, the executive director of the Shapiro-Davis Inaugural Committee.
This Inauguration will include stories and successes from all around the Commonwealth, and Governor-Elect Shapiro is committed to including as many people as possible in the festivities.
Here Are the Five Competitions:
Any resident of Pennsylvania is encouraged to submit a nomination for a friend, neighbor, or acquaintance who has made outstanding contributions to their community.
Be sure to include a reason for the nomination and details about the person’s accomplishments that make them deserving of Hometown Hero status when submitting a nomination. The lucky winner(s) will be invited to the inauguration.

Exhibition of Student Work
Students from all across the Commonwealth are encouraged to utilize visual media (such as photography or painting) to showcase the things they appreciate most about their hometowns. Everyone from kindergartners to seniors is welcome to participate.
Essay Writing Competition for High School Students
Submit an essay explaining how your workforce development course in ninth through twelfth grade has prepared you for a career in your chosen area, and how the new Governor’s plans can help you design your future in that industry.
Selfies in the Keystone State
Residents of the Keystone State are encouraged to send in selfies with any inaugural or campaign gear.
