Stephen Curry is currently preparing for his return to the Western Conference finals, but he is also achieving another life milestone in the meantime. Curry officially graduated from Davidson College on Sunday, 13 years after leaving the university.
Curry dropped out of Davidson with a year left on his NCAA eligibility to join the NBA draft in 2009. He was one semester away from formally graduating, according to the institution, and finished the coursework during this year’s spring semester. Despite the fact that he will not be attending graduation, he is listed as a graduate this year.
Curry’s performance as probably the finest player in Davidson history earned him the honor of having his jersey retired. He has the most points, three-pointers, free throws, field goals, and steals in school history.
However, it isn’t yet official, but this graduation lays the path for it. Davidson only retires the number of players who graduate, a rule that the university does not waive.

In-Game 6 of their NBA Playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Grizzlies. It’s a good thing, too, because if they had gone to Game 7, Stephen Curry may not have had enough time to finish college and study.
According to Davidson College’s Twitter feed, the Warriors star was awarded his diploma on Sunday.
Curry was a member of the Davidson Wildcats from 2006 to 2009, helping them to the Elite Eight in 2008. He dropped out of school and has since played for Golden State. He did, however, finish his last semester of classes this spring and now has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Sociology major.
In a statement, Davidson College stated, “Stephen Curry has often underlined the importance of education, how much he enjoyed his Davidson College experience, and that he is devoted to getting his degree.” “He had one semester of coursework to finish.” “He re-enrolled at Davidson College for the spring semester and worked with two members of the Davidson faculty, a Stanford University professor and a UC Santa Cruz professor who both taught Stephen at Davidson,” according to a statement from the college.
