East Harlem homicide investigators are currently looking into the death of a woman who was discovered in a bathtub on Friday evening having been fatally beaten with a blunt object.
At around 6:15 p.m. on February 11, officers assigned to the 23rd Precinct discovered the terrible discovery while performing a wellness check inside an apartment located at 162 East 100th Street.
The authorities were able to enter the flat and proceeded to the bathroom, where they discovered the woman, who was 56 years old and fully dressed, sitting in the bathtub.
She was alleged to have sustained head damage, and the authorities said that she was unconscious and unresponsive.

Her death was pronounced at the spot by the responding emergency medical services units. Her identity has not been released by the police until her family has been notified.
The body of the victim was taken to the office of the Medical Examiner so that an autopsy could be performed in order to identify the official cause of death.
According to the police, there have been no arrests made as a result of the continuing investigation.
