New York-New Jersey Port Authority Crossing Fees Will Increase by $1.

The Port Authority has announced that beginning today, drivers entering New York City from New Jersey will incur higher tolls.

According to the New York and New Jersey Port Authority, these new fees will be applicable to individuals using the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the George Washington, Bayonne, and Goethals bridges, and the Outerbridge Crossing.

In addition, it states that cash payments will no longer be accepted in the future.

During peak hours, which are 6 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends, E-ZPass tolls will increase from $13.75 to $14.75. This price increases from $11.75 to $12.75 during off-peak hours.

The agency claims that the high rate of inflation prompted this fare increase.

If you have an E-ZPass account through the New York and New Jersey Customer Service Center, you can still receive discounts.
