New Jersey SEC Fires West New York BOE For Not Filing A Financial Disclosure Statement!

For failing to submit a financial disclosure form after being appointed to the West New York Board of Education in January 2021, the New Jersey School Ethics Commission has removed the trustee from office.

Former New Jersey State Elections Commission (NJSEC) chair Robert Bender formally removed Dalia from his position on the “Your Children’s Future” panel, which he had been elected to fill in April 2021.

The vote to officially remove her was taken at the West New York BOE meeting on Wednesday.

BOE President Adam Parkinson explained over the phone to HCV that disciplinary action taken against an offender could include a reprimand, censure, suspension, or even removal from office.

He had stopped showing up to school board meetings, but the board did not feel it was their position to remove him because it would go against the will of the people in 2021. We wish him the best of luck and are grateful for his time spent working for the school district, but the SEC has mandated that he be replaced.

The next meeting of the nine-person board will be held on December 7 at 6 p.m. at West New York Middle School (201 57th St.), where Parkinson noted that advertisements for the vacant volunteer position will be posted.

On this particular Friday, attempts to contact Dalia were unsuccessful.
