Halle Open 2022: Carles Carreno Busta, Medvedev, and Huracz Are All Crushed by Kyrgios in Halle!

ATP Halle Open has been a fantastic week and we’re now down to the last four competitors for the trophy.

A thrilling matchup awaits us amongst the four semifinalists who have successfully transitioned to grass. The winner and losers are still up in the air. A few of my best predictions.

Predictions for The Atp Halle Semi-Finals.

TENNIS-GER-ATP-MEN

Hubert Hurkacz defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-6(2) 7-6 in the quarterfinals after saving a break point (4). Hurkacz won 79 percent of his first serves and had few mental lapses on his service during the tournament. In Halle, Nick Kyrgios defeated Pablo Carreno Busta 6-4, 6-2 to maintain his superb grass-court performance.

No one broke Kyrgios once during the match, which saw him win 91 percent of his first serves. A player who has only been broken once in three matches this week will be virtually unbeatable on grass if Kyrgios maintains his current serving form. This is the first time these two have ever played each other. Both players have massive serves, so breaking one another will be difficult, if not impossible.

Kyrgios’ Serve Is More Difficult.

As a result, Kyrgios’ serve is more difficult to read for his opponents, and he is the better baseline player when it comes to aggressive play. When it comes to the baseline, Hurkacz tends to be a little too sluggish and the Australian can take advantage of this in important stages of the match. Daniil Medvedev takes on Oscar Otte in a chess match.

Roberto Bautista Agut was outplayed by Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the quarterfinals. All nine of Medvedev’s breakpoints were saves, as he earned 82% of his first serves.

It’s been a good week for Oscar Otte in Halle, as he came from a set down to beat Karen Khachanov. Despite Otte’s dominance on the first serve, Khachanov had limited opportunities to win the match.

This is the first time these two have ever played each other. Only seven of Medvedev’s 21-second serve points were successful against Bautista Agut. Otte intends to take advantage of this weakness in the Russians’ game and go on the offensive. Otte’s superb first serve should also earn him some bonus points. Although Medvedev is one of the top returners in men’s tennis, Otte’s prior opponents in Halle should be able to bring Otte’s serves back into play more often than Medvedev.

On the other hand, Medvedev’s consistency and depth from the baseline, as well as his flat groundstrokes that cut through the court and make it difficult for Otte to attack, make him an ideal opponent for Otte. To win the match in straight sets, Medvedev will have to play more baseline points than he prefers and wear out the German.
the performance of Nick Kyrgios.

The Terra Wortmann Open in Halle saw Nick Kyrgios cruise to a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over sixth seed Pablo Carreno Busta to reach the semi-finals for the third time in 2022. During the one-and-a-half-hour and nine-minute match, the Australian hit 37 winners, including 13 aces, to go to 3-0 in the ATP Head2Head series versus Carreno Busta.
I’m having so much fun on the grass,” Kyrgios remarked after his victory.

“Today was a difficult day in every way. However, he’s a dangerous player on any surface, and the score suggests that this was the case. He’s a great player, and he knows how to win matches by hitting the ball hard. For me, the only thing to focus on was my serve and being tuned in from the ground because he’s an extremely tough opponent to beat today.

As a result of his victory, Kyrgios is now expected to be ranked 45th in the Pepperstone ATP Live Rankings. A sixth ATP Tour title at the ATP 500 may propel the Australian to No. 30. Pepperstone ATP rankings have not ranked him in the top 50 since March 2021, when he was 26. Kyrgios dominated Carreno Busta in the first set, dominating the match from the off with his serve.

It was difficult for the Spaniard to make a move after the World No. 65 won the first 12 points with his service game and dropped just seven points overall on serve. Kyrgios capitalized on the mounting pressure in the fifth game with a break to love that sealed the opening set victory. With an early break in the second set, the Australian was in complete charge of the match and had all the momentum going his way.

Even while Carreno Busta‘s customary tenacity was on display throughout some of the most exciting rallies in OWL Arena, he struggled to establish any momentum for a comeback. However, Kyrgios was unfazed, breaking yet again en route to his 15th tour-level triumph of the year. A hard-fought victory over World No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round paved the way for Kyrgios’ victory.

The Australian stated that he had hoped to avoid falling behind Carreno Busta as he had with the Greek in the first round. I wanted to win that first set against Tsitsipas,” he remarked. “I know how important it is to be on top of those top players as soon as possible,” he continues. I thought I returned extremely well today because I put so much pressure on his serve right from the start. Kyrgios will face either Felix Auger-Aliassime or Hubert Hurkacz in Saturday’s semi-finals as he seeks to make his first tour-level final appearance of the season.
