Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jason Rivarde said that Shannon Epstein, 25, questioned a family she thought to be Latino if they were “smuggling cocaine” as they boarded a Spirit Airlines aircraft from Louis Armstrong International Airport in Louisiana on Thanksgiving Day.

It has been reported that Epstein continued to raise a disturbance after the jet had already departed from the gate, leading officials to remove her from the aircraft just before takeoff.

Epstein was “very aggressive” and refused to leave when deputies approached her on the jet bridge after the plane landed back at the gate. Then, Epstein allegedly attacked six deputies, kicking one in the groyne and biting another till the skin broke. She apparently kicked someone else in the scrotum as well. On-site medical care was provided for the injured deputies.
