A young girl in her pyjamas was discovered by police on a busy corner in Hasbrouck Heights on Friday morning.
Officers who responded to several calls about the unaccompanied child on January 27 located her at the intersection of Jefferson and Terrace avenues. Lieutenant John A. Behr of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department said.
She was chilly, but he said it was all right.
According to the lieutenant, the child’s neighbours came out to help them find his or her home.

The girl’s dad showed up soon after, according to him.
Behr said detectives were sent to the residence, where they gathered evidence that was then shared with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
He also stated that the child was still with her father while the investigation was ongoing.
