An Airport in Florida Was Searched After a Man From New Jersey Claimed He Had a Bomb.

Late Tuesday afternoon, a man from New Jersey denied reports that he had a bomb in his luggage at an airport in Florida.

John Magee, 66, of Carneys Point, allegedly made the threat at about 5:00 p.m. while waiting for his Frontier Airlines flight in Concourse C at Palm Beach International Airport. While the terminal and the plane were being searched, all passengers were evacuated to the concourse.

An affidavit obtained by WPTV TV states that a witness in line witnessed Magee repeatedly slam his bag to the ground. To paraphrase what she overheard from Magee, “I have a bomb in the bag” and “You don’t know what you’re in for.”

Flight attendants informed the captain, who then had the gate desk contact the local sheriff after hearing the passenger’s story. Magee was taken off the flight by the sheriff’s deputies.

Disputes the Validity of the Charge

Magee was questioned by police and allegedly said, “I didn’t say any dumb s—t like blowing up a plane,” as stated in the affidavit.

Magee told WPTV the deputies took him off the plane without giving him a reason, took him to an interrogation room where they read him his rights and questioned him.

He was taken to court and charged with filing a bomb threat that was unfounded.

As soon as he posts a $30,000 bond, he can go back to his home in New Jersey.
