A New Jersey Caretaker Was Sentenced to 23 Years in Jail for Abusing a 16-year-old Girl With a Neurological Impairment.

SOUTHHAMPTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) – The prosecution said on Wednesday that a New Jersey man, age 36, was given a term of 23 years in jail for physically abusing a teenage girl for whom he was providing caregiving services.

According to the court filings, a man named Edmondo DiPaolo from Pemberton Township shattered the femur of the victim, who was 16 years old at the time, while he was changing her diaper in March of 2020.

At the residence of the victim’s family in Southampton, where DiPaolo worked for the company Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, Inc.

The girl, who suffered from a neurological disease, passed away as a result of circumstances that had nothing to do with the maltreatment. She was unable to communicate, half-blind, and received her medication through tubes in her mouth and nose.

After discovering an injury to the girl’s leg, family members contacted law enforcement to report the incident. An examination also uncovered the fact that DiPaolo shoved a little plush animal and some water into her mouth against her will.

At the beginning of this year, DiPaolo entered a guilty plea to the charge of endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree. On November 18th, he was given his punishment.
