A Missing Man From Washington Has Been Located Dead Next to the Highway.

After a guy went missing on the North Coast, his body was discovered on the side of the road.

North of Orick, on Highway 101, the body of Carroll Johnson, 69, was discovered. Johnson is well-known in the area as a commercial fisherman.

On his journey back to Washington, he stopped off at Humboldt Bay to see relatives, having left Santa Cruz. On January 31st, his relatives reported him as missing.

Johnson may have been staying at Motel 6 in Arcata with the notorious felon Casie Dean the night before he was killed. Later that night, the woman returned to the motel, but Johnson did not.

Arcata PD says they will be working on the case all night. It is still not known what caused Johnson’s death.
