On Wednesday, a man from the Washington, D.C., region passed away after the dog leash that was linked to him getting trapped in a train door at the Dunn Loring Metro station in Vienna, Virginia, and dragged him down the tracks. The station is located in Vienna, Virginia.
According to the complaint, the victim, who has been named as 50-year-old Harold Riley, got off the train at 1:30 p.m. before his dog Daisy could, and the victim was unable to free himself from the leash before the train began moving.

After that, the train dragged Riley down the platform and onto the tracks, according to the Metro Transit Police Department.
When the train started moving, he was around 450 feet away from the operator’s cab, and it was reported that the operator had done at least two door safety checks before the train started moving.
The authorities made efforts to save Riley’s life by administering lifesaving treatments; nevertheless, he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to the article, Riley’s family claimed that Daisy was his service dog despite the fact that she did not appear to have any kind of identifying tag on her.

Metro officials have stated that the only animals that are permitted to ride the Metro are service animals. It is required that all other animals be transported in carriers at all times.
Because Riley’s daughter felt that she needed to be moved away from her family’s other pets, she is currently being cared for by another family. Riley’s daughter expressed her regret for having to find a new home for her.
