At the very least, two people had minor injuries; one of them was a responding firefighter, and the other was a resident of one of the residences.<\/p>\n

Chief Keith Weaver of the Bayonne Fire Department stated that workers were “forced out” during their initial attack on the flames as a result of the intense fire conditions.<\/p>\n

According to him, “it progressed to a defensive operation using massive streams,” and this is what happened next.<\/p>\n

According to Junior Ferrante, who serves as the coordinator of Bayonne’s Office of Emergency Management, the recent weather conditions have not been helpful.<\/p>\n

“The conditions are extremely dry, and there’s very low humidity \u2013 there have been brushing fire warnings going out, and even on a house fire, most of these homes are wood frame construction, so they get a little spark, and they get a little fire, and they just take off,” he said.<\/p>\n
