A fatal wrong-way crash on the Belt Parkway claimed the lives of two motorists.
\nThe incident occurred near exit 13 at approximately 1 a.m. on Tuesday, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

According to their probe, the motorist went two exits in the wrong direction. In the end, he collided head-on with another motorist, killing them both.<\/p>\n

Around 12:50 a.m., police say, 52-year-old Queens resident Winston Ramdeen drove a black Infiniti eastbound in the westbound lanes, on the wrong side of the road, sideswiping multiple vehicles before crashing head-on into a Nissan Sentra, killing both occupants.<\/p>\n

At Brookdale Hospital, both the alleged wrong-way motorist and the 79-year-old man he struck were pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The deafening roar of shattering metal woke up the neighborhood late at night.
\nA resident of the area commented, “I’m not going to lie, I didn’t see it, the head-on accident, but just hearing it I knew it was crazy.”<\/p>\n

The accident caused the westbound lanes to be closed for a long period of time.
\nDoris Lewis, a local of Brooklyn, said, “That’s a dangerous highway, it’s not the first time I’ve heard of instances because sometimes people are speeding, it’s really awful.”<\/p>\n
