On Monday, police in Brooklyn made an arrest in connection with the weekend slayings of an elderly man and a lady.<\/p>\n

Joevani Vale, 26, reportedly cut a 31-year-old woman in the right leg on Nevins Street in Boerum Hill around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. She was in stable condition when she arrived at Methodist Hospital.<\/p>\n

Yet, Vale is suspected of murdering an 83-year-old man in the Wyckoff Gardens apartments on Nevins Street less than an hour later.<\/p>\n

The body of Ramon Cintron was discovered by an elevator.<\/p>\n

Vale was taken into custody on a Monday afternoon at Brooklyn’s Maimonides Medical Center, where he had checked himself in for psychiatric treatment. There are still open cases against him.<\/p>\n

Ramon’s nephew, Angel Cintron Junior, said that he was just released from the hospital after having pacemaker issues.<\/p>\n

“Always somebody who was a performer,” Angel stated. The humor came easily to him.
\nAccording to Angel, after his uncle was released from the hospital, he went to a bodega nearby to play the numbers.<\/p>\n

According to Angel, “That’s where the suspect or the guy they think killed him first spotted him.”<\/p>\n

Vale was said to be donning a black ball cap, sweatpants, and a dark sweatshirt. He was seen on surveillance footage, likely in a stairwell.<\/p>\n

A neighbor, out of the blue,” Angel remarked. Yes, a neighbor. Someone he had seen before; maybe he had said hi to them.<\/p>\n

Those who knew Ramon at Wycoff Gardens said he was well-liked and enjoyed a good party. From celebrating his birthday in November to hanging up Christmas decorations that are still on display, he has had a lot to celebrate this year. The neighbors are sad because he brought so much happiness to their lives.<\/p>\n

Robert Crispin, a close acquaintance, described him as “simply a lovely man.” You’d think that at 80 or so, he’d pass away peacefully at home rather than at the hospital or after waking up. not returning home”<\/p>\n

The police are looking into a further incident that happened within a few blocks of the first and believe it may also be related to Vale.<\/p>\n

A 47-year-old lady reported being followed and hit in the shoulder at 12:50 p.m. on 3rd Avenue between Pacific Street. The assailant ran away on foot when she declined medical treatment.<\/p>\n

Vale was arrested three times before: in 2020 for assault, in 2016 for forceful touching, and in 2015 for public lewdness.<\/p>\n

According to word around the street, Ramon and Vale both called the same apartment building home.<\/p>\n
