Darryl Campbell, better known as the rapper and hip-hop podcaster Taxstone, was found guilty of manslaughter on Thursday in New York in connection with the shooting death of a bodyguard in 2016 in Irving Plaza. The incident occurred during one of Campbell’s performances.<\/p>\n

A jury in Manhattan found Taxstone guilty of shooting and killing Ronald McPhatter and seriously injuring three others.<\/p>\n

He will be sentenced next month for what District Attorney Alvin Bragg termed a “tragic and murderous fight in a packed New York City music venue.”<\/p>\n

Prosecutors claim that the shooting occurred as a result of a long-running dispute between Taxstone and Roland Collins, better known as the rapper Troy Ave, who testified against him. McPhatter served as security for Troy Avenue.<\/p>\n
