The medical examiner has confirmed the identity of the 38-year-old man who was shot and killed at Lakewood Towne Center earlier this month in what prosecutors in Pierce County described as a random act of violence.<\/p>\n

According to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, Lakewood resident Sean Gorr died on March 9 from numerous gunshot wounds. The death of Gorr was officially announced as a homicide.<\/p>\n

At the time, it was Pierce County’s 10th homicide of the year and the first homicide to be reported in Lakewood so far this year.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the shooting, which was reported at 3 p.m. in the Target parking lot, a man was taken into custody on murder charges in connection with the death of Gorr. When Gorr approached the other man, the 22-year-old suspect allegedly opened fire.<\/p>\n

There was apparently no physical altercation between them before the shooting started, as captured on surveillance footage. The prosecutor claimed the shooter fired 13-15 shots at Gorr during his arraignment in Superior Court.<\/p>\n

According to the charges against Gorr, police from the Lakewood Police Department discovered him with gunshot wounds to the chest, back, arm, and leg. The victim was taken to Madigan Army Medical Center by West Pierce Fire & Rescue, but he was pronounced dead there.<\/p>\n

According to evidence gathered by the police, murder suspects Sarome Stabler claimed he had never heard of or seen Gorr before. He allegedly informed responding officers that he shot the man because he was threatened by Gorr’s proximity.<\/p>\n
