The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported today that a lady from Sussex County is facing criminal charges after casting ballots in the 2020 primary and general elections in both New Jersey and Florida.<\/p>\n

In 1993, when she registered to vote in Sussex Borough, Florida, Donna Prentes Brady allegedly cast ballots both in person and by mail.<\/p>\n

Brady was detained on Monday, becoming the most recent victim of Governor Ron DeSantis<\/a>‘ campaign against voting fraud through the vote crime team he set up last year.<\/p>\n

She is still listed as a Sussex County registered voter in New Jersey’s voting records today.<\/p>\n

Between 2013 and 2020, Brady participated in every primary and general election in New Jersey. Moreover, she switched between parties, casting ballots for Democrats in 2014 and 2015, Republicans in 2016, Democrats in 2017, Republicans in 2018, and Democrats in 2019 and 2020. Brady would have needed to proactively register change in party registrations at least five times in nine years had she not become an unaffiliated voter by 2021.<\/p>\n

She cast her vote in the Democratic primary in New Jersey in July 2020 and the Republican primary in Florida in September 2020. In Florida’s Marion County, she signed up to vote in 2020.<\/p>\n

She skipped the 2021 and 2022 elections in New Jersey.<\/p>\n

According to property tax documents, Brady still possesses her Sussex home. According to Florida records, she received the house near Ocala from her deceased father in 2018.<\/p>\n

Brady gave $5 to Florida U.S. Senate candidate Val Demings and $35 to Georgia U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock<\/a> during the previous election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission records.<\/p>\n
