This summer, Bill Burr, Halsey, Stephen Colbert, and Alanis Morissette will all visit the Garden State.<\/p>\n

The performances will be the focus of the brand-new North to Shore summer music, comedy, film, and arts festival, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced on Monday.<\/p>\n

The multi-city festival will take place over three weekends in June in Newark, Asbury Park, and Atlantic City. Murphy wants it to surpass the well-known South by Southwest festival in size and quality.<\/p>\n

“We said, you know what, the hell with it, man,” Murphy quipped at the expense of the Austin, Texas festival. Do this in Jersey, please. Let’s launch a festival that is all our own. Do it the way we see fit. Celebrate our differences.<\/p>\n

We’ll hopefully be able to look down on what Texas is doing in a few years and not try to duplicate it, he added.<\/p>\n

The Following Weekends Are Planned for North to Shore:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 June 4-11 in Atlantic City<\/strong>
\n\u2022 June 14-18 in Asbury Park<\/strong>
\n\u2022 June 21-25 in Newark<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although the schedule isn’t finalized yet, according to Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, there will be something for everyone during the four-day weekend.<\/p>\n

He added, “We will be announcing a significant R&B performance at venerable Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, but we can’t divulge the specifics just yet.<\/p>\n

Also, he is thrilled to provide emerging and less well-known musicians a platform.<\/p>\n

We’re excited to host because one thing about Atlantic City is that we absolutely know how to party, said Small. “Our beaches will be open,” he added.<\/p>\n
