WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 coverage and analysis comes to you courtesy of Bleacher Report. Only once on Sunday was the HIAC stipulation used, but it was given to the biggest feud: Cody Rhodes versus Seth Rollins. Aside from the Raw women’s championship defense by Bianca Belair against Asuka and Becky Lynch, the only other titles on the line at the pay-per-view were the U.S. Championship of Theory versus Mustafa Ali.

This match was the culmination of the animosity between Ezekiel and Kevin Owens and the program featuring Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. Bobby Lashley has a tough road ahead of him against Omos and MVP in a handicap match with The Judgment Day, as well as The Judgment Day taking on Finn Balor, AJ Styles, and Liv Morgan. Take a look back at Sunday’s event to get a sense of what happened.

Results and Grades for The WWE Hell in A Cell in 2022.

The Women’s Championship on Raw Clash of The Champions: Asuka vs. Bianca Belair Champion Belair Was on The Verge of Losing Her Title at Any Moment.

"WWE

Clearly, She Was the Match’s Most Imposing Figure. Retaliating Quickly, Asuka and Lynch Went for The Pinfall, Hoping to Get the Title Away from The Current Wwe Women’s Champion, Ember Moon. on The Middle Rope, Lynch Landed a Guillotine Leg drop on Belair and nearly won the championship.

A top rope leg drop from “The Man” punished Belair as he continued to steamroll his opponents. Finally, “The Empress of Tomorrow” got her stride, delivering a near-pinfall to Lynch following a flurry of heavy blows. Belair nearly pinned both Asuka and Lynch at the same time with a standing moonsault. Asuka and Lynch both received Codebreakers from Asuka, who threw a Codebreaker at Belair, who landed on the ropes and ate it. It was Asuka’s turn, and she struck the two women with a brilliant wizard and locked her opponents in a double ankle hold. Belair appeared to be out for the count after the Man Handle Slam, but Asuka sprung a surprise.

Lynch’s Approach Against.

The less-experienced Belair used Lynch’s approach against her to close out the show. When Asuka was planted by Lynch, Belair tossed her out of the ring and into the crowd. To defend her championship, the champion pinned a helpless Asuka. An excellent way to begin the night. Creative and fast-paced gameplay. Everyone went all out. The Raw women’s championship was retained when Bianca Belair used a pinfall victory over Asuka and Becky Lynch to retain her title. An Omos vs. Bobby Lashley handicap bout:

Omos tried to get Lashley to engage in a strength-versus-strength match, but Lashley fought back. The veteran relied on his MMA training and striking advantage to overcome his larger opponent. As soon as Lashley started to build a lead, MVP jumped out of the ring and sped away. Lashley’s fires were smothered again and time again by Omos. Lashley was shoved through the barricade outside the ring by Omos. MVP swarmed “The Almighty” as he barely escaped the referee’s 10-count. As a result of Cedric Alexander’s intrusion, MVP was forced to send him packing earlier in the evening after he offered to help his former Hurt Business boss.

Replica WWE Championships.

Lashley was able to subdue Omos with a spear because of Alexander’s distraction. In order to get MVP to tap out, he used the Hurt Lock on him. Replica WWE championships were on display after the match, so Lashley grabbed one of them and declared himself the new champion. All of the participants put up a strong effort. Winner: Lashley beat MVP and Omos with a finisher. Classification: B-

For a near count, Ezekiel nearly stunned the world in his match against Kevin Owens, flooring Owens with a flying knee and nailing an elbow drop on the top rope. On the outside, Owens regained control and slashed Ezekiel across the forehead. Owens performed a stunning springboard moonsault, showcasing his incredible athleticism.

He was distracted by Ezekiel’s identity, which let Elias’ brother punish him with large corner splashes and a spinebuster. Owens’ preoccupation with Ezekiel When Ezekiel landed his second flying knee, Owens was once again in danger of falling to the ground. Stunner and superkick helped the evil Canadian gain a victory. Keeping the momentum going on this unexpected feud with a good midcard battle. Ezekiel was defeated by a pinfall by Owens. Classification: B

The Battle Between A.J Styles and Finn Balor.

It was a good-guys-versus-bad-guys battle between A.J Styles and Finn Balor on Judgement Day, with the latter having the upper hand.

"eve

Morgan was catapulted through the air by Styles, who then hit Ripley with a stunning hurricanrana. Morgan and Balor were dealt an early blow by Judgement Day, who used the distraction to gain the advantage over their opponents whenever the tide turned.

Balor’s Pele Kick gave him the opportunity to make the tag after all. Following Edge and Priest’s prolonged beating of Balor, the fans erupted in cheers as Styles tagged in. On the heels of Morgan’s takedown of Ripley, “The Phenomenal One” unleashed a barrage of hallmark blows and slams on Edge and Priest alike. For the first time since WrestleMania 38 in April, Styles connected with Edge with the Phenomenal Forearm. The pinfall was interrupted by Priest, who saved his team. Morgan and Ripley were the next to join in. In the beginning, Morgan’s speed outperformed Ripley’s strength frequently until Ripley reversed the pace with an extremely brutal suplex.

A six-person brawl ensued, with Balor, Morgan, and Styles all jumping on their opponents outside the ring. Edge’s spear was countered by Balor, who laid him out with a Coup de Gras. As a result of Ripley’s heroics, Balor was crushed with a spear by Ripley’s Judgement Day leader for the triumph. This was a good game with nothing to quibble about. Finn Balor and A.J. Styles were beaten by the Judgement Day trio of Edge, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley. Classification: B

Moss’ Alleged Injury.

In a no-holds-barred contest, Madcap Moss will face Happy Corbin. There was no rekindling of feelings between these two ex-pals. The action spilled over into the outside world immediately. Corbin slammed Moss into the ring apron with a chokehold. As Corbin repeatedly beat Moss with a steel chair, he enraged the Chicago audience. To take advantage of Moss’ alleged injury to the neck, Corbin used the chair to whack him across the back of the head with force.

Corbin snatched up a new chair and sank his teeth into Moss’ throat. The audience chanted “asshole” as a result of this. Corbin smashed into a chair in the corner while Moss jumped out of the way. A chorus of “we want tables” screams erupted from the crowd, but Moss was content to sit on a chair. Corbin’s back and torso were repeatedly struck by chair shots from Moss. Moss nearly won the fight with a DDT on the steel chair. Corbin threw Moss into the announcer’s table after securing him with a chair at ringside.

As Corbin grasped the steel stairs and leaned them into the corner, it appeared that Moss’ days were numbered. Taking advantage of the lull, Moss snagged Corbin and dropped him with a fallaway smash on the steps. Moss exacted the ultimate revenge on Corbin. He pinned Corbin with a chair around his neck, then threw the stairs onto the chair. Despite the lackluster nature of the conflict, Moss showed off his ferocity in a good, albeit brief, bout. Happy Corbin was defeated by Madcap Moss in a pinfall. Classification: B-

Champion of The United States vs. Mustafa Ali Ali.

Champion of the United States vs. Mustafa Ali Ali was a hero to the people of Chicago, and the city roared its support for him.

"match

In WWE history, Theory is the youngest U.S. champion ever. After months of protesting for his WWE release, Ali is an under-appreciated superstar. Ali got the better of Theory early on in the fight. With a series of strikes and slams, Theory was able to get himself under control. Athleticism was on display from both men.

Ali performed a backflip over the top rope before slamming Theory with a superkick while still in the air. A seated springboard Spanish Fly was landed by the champion. As an added bonus, the hometown hero unleashed a devastating tornado DDT. When Ali countered Theory’s finisher with an STF, the crowd erupted into a frenzy. There were several key moments in this match, including Ali’s tilt-a-whirl DDT and his attempted 450 splashes.

The theory was able to avoid the challenger’s aerial attack and land his finisher for a decisive victory. In the ring, both fighters appeared to be in top form. The contest is elevated by Theory and Ali’s real-life contrast and the involvement of the fans. Ali’s defeat by the smarmy villain was a wonderful movie, but the notion that WWE will never really commit to him is difficult to get off.

The WWE Hell in A Cell Event.

The U.S. championship was retained when Theory submitted Mustafa Ali with a pinfall victory. An average of 6.5 out of 10. As part of the WWE Hell in a Cell event, Cody Rhodes will square off against Seth Rollins. Rollins deserves a lot of praise for his excellent heel work. Rollins wore polka dots in the ring to insult Dusty Rhodes, the father of Cody Rhodes. To display a badly damaged chest and arm, Rhodes removed his jacket. Rhodes was diagnosed with a total pectoral tear prior to the competition.

Rhodes didn’t hesitate to go on the attack early in the bout, nailing a Cody Cutter. A kendo stick was dug into Rollins’ damaged muscle before he used it to hit him in the face. When Rhodes refused to make up for the loss of function in his damaged limb, he was hung from a clothesline. Rollins put his opponent through a lot of pain, both physically and mentally. After putting on Rhodes’ jacket and grabbing the opponent’s weight belt, Rollins mercilessly whipped at the actual injury.

When Rollins brought a table into the ring, the audience chanted “Thank you, Rollins!” in appreciation. Rollins, feeling confident in his position, threw himself over the ropes in an attempt to land a frog splash on Rhodes through the ringside table. As Rollins slammed into loot, “The American Nightmare” rolled to the side and cleared the path.

With the bull rope in play, Rhodes got Rollins to latch on to him.

Rhodes and Rollins Battered.

Rhodes and Rollins battered one other with the rope and bells while both were tied in, a throwback to Dusty’s era.

"results

In spite of the excruciating anguish coursing through his body, Rhodes was unable to secure the victory over Rollins with his final move. In spite of Rhodes’ injury, Rollins still managed to throw him through the table with a powerbomb. The Chicago crowd chanted, “This is amazing!” as a result of the sheer tenacity.

A move that Triple H placed on Rollins, The Pedigree, came close to defeating Rhodes. The pendulum swung back in Rollins’ favor with a stomp on the chin. The crowd’s chants of “This is great” grew even louder. As a result of this, both men were forced to do the same move in response to the fan favorite’s cross-Rhodes. To win, Rhodes knocked Rollins’ sledgehammer out of his hands, followed by a series of Cross Rhodes and a sledgehammer tomahawk.

What a thrilling contest! To pay homage to Dusty Rhodes is an honor in and of itself. In addition to the bull rope and polka dots, the contest was enhanced by their inclusion. Cross Rhodes dilutes Rhodes’ conclusion, but we’re nitpicking hairs considering how wonderful the rest of the album was. Rhodes and Rollins were given a pass to relax because of Rhodes’ serious injury. A real issue was used as an excuse for a plot twist in the match. Even if it was a bad idea, you can’t deny how it makes you feel. When a match makes you feel something, it’s the pinnacle of professional wrestling. Cody Rhodes wins via pinfall over Seth Rollins. A+ is the appropriate grade to assign.
