On Tuesday, a 7-year-old child in the Bronx was stabbed many times in the neck, stomach, and back, reportedly by her own grandma, according to cops and police sources.<\/p>\n

At approximately 8 a.m., a youngster was stabbed at 1317 Clinton Ave. in Morrisania with an unidentified instrument, police said.<\/p>\n

According to the police, she was transferred in critical condition to Lincoln Hospital, where she underwent surgery. On Monday night, police reported that the girl’s condition had improved to stable.<\/p>\n

Her grandma, Maritza Yauger, 65, was transferred to another facility for psychiatric examination.<\/p>\n

According to The Post, police sources said she was charged with attempted murder, manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.<\/p>\n

Speculation about a possible reason is fruitless.<\/p>\n

She was covered in blood from head to toe, as one witness put it, according to Ana Martinez, a neighbor who spoke to The Post. She was covered with blood, beginning at the face and going all the way to the floor. Her whole face was covered.<\/p>\n

I witnessed the officer hurriedly placing a bloodied girl into a police cruiser. They quickly got her into an ambulance when she collapsed. The cop just rushed her,\u201d Martinez, a 37-year-old mother of three, recalled.<\/p>\n

Martinez claims to have seen the young girl and her grandmother out in the neighborhood with the family dog.<\/p>\n

It’s dreadful, she said.<\/p>\n

Another neighbor, David Roamba, 57, said he saw the grandmother being taken away in an ambulance.<\/p>\n

She definitely appeared to be ill. She was walking with difficulty. Someone was holding her hand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Derrike Graham, who lives across the street, said the grandma was silent as she was led away.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe looked like she knew she did something wrong. She didn\u2019t say anything. She has this look like \u2018yeah, I know what I did,\u2019\u201d Graham, 52, told The Post.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s uncle, Damian Llauger, told The Post Tuesday evening his niece was undergoing her second surgery.<\/p>\n

He commended the \u201cquick-thinking\u201d cop who responded to the call because he rushed her to the hospital on his own instead of waiting for an ambulance.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe took the matters into his own hands,\u201d Llauger said. \u201cHe just went to the hospital and carried the baby in his arms. The NYPD saved her, a quick-thinking cop.\u201d<\/p>\n

Llauger, who was standing outside the grandmother\u2019s home, said the little girl was visiting her grandparent when the frightening incident happened.<\/p>\n
