An SUV hit and killed a young girl in Woodside, Queens, who was walking home from the park, according to a family who spoke to The Post.<\/p>\n

Dolma Naadhum, 7, was killed after being struck by a car on Friday near the corner of Newtown Road and 46th Street. Despite emergency medical treatment at Elmhurst Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.<\/p>\n

Tsering Wangdu, Dolma’s father, had an older son with his wife Sonam and admitted, “I am not good.”<\/p>\n

According to a family member, the unfortunate event occurred as the girl and her mother was returning after a routine outing to the playground.<\/p>\n

“Her mother is alone in bed. The father, the relative said, “has been crying.<\/p>\n

Another member of the family sobbed as she described the tragic loss of the young daughter.<\/p>\n

Dorjee Dolma, the victim’s uncle’s wife, said on Saturday, “I feel like it’s a dream, I can’t believe she’s gone.”<\/p>\n

A neighbor who saw what happened described the mother’s reaction as “devastating.”<\/p>\n

It was only last night that Gladys Garcia realized she had seen her. She was sobbing uncontrollably while clutching the young girl in her arms. She had fallen to the floor. There was no sign of life from the infant.<\/p>\n

A police officer loaded [the girl] into the car and rushed her to the emergency room. And they didn’t even bother to call an ambulance,” Garcia noted.<\/p>\n

According to the police report, the youngster was crossing the street when she was struck by the SUV. It is unclear whether or not the child had the right of way at the intersection.<\/p>\n

The motorist refused to leave the scene. No one has been taken into custody, and the police report no illegal activity.<\/p>\n

Donations to a GoFundMe page set up for Dolma’s family have topped $20,000 as of Saturday night, and the page claims she was a second grader at PS 85 in Astoria.<\/p>\n

Dolma was a friendly and caring young lady who would greet each and every student as they arrived for class each day.<\/p>\n

Several people admired her intelligence and charisma. “Her death came far too soon,” commented event planner Leah Lin. The local community has long advocated for a traffic signal to be installed at the busy intersection.<\/p>\n

Every day I see the little girl and her mom on their way to and from school and the after-school program. Garcia, 60, commented, “It’s always she and her mother.”<\/p>\n

According to Garcia, the stop signs at the crossroads are often ignored by drivers.<\/p>\n

She continued, “It’s incredibly sad, horrible. They just speed through there because it’s a main street near a motorway.” What a tragic situation. It’s a terrible loss, especially for a child so young.<\/p>\n

It’s very annoying. Another nearby resident named Daniel stated, “I probably submitted like four requests to 311 for speed bumps and traffic lights” after witnessing the child “on her stomach, with her mother standing over her crying.”<\/p>\n

This really pisses me off. Tragically, a young girl must be sacrificed. It’s heartbreaking. A second local, who only provided her name as Mary, termed the death “simply a disaster” and said she hoped the victim didn’t suffer.<\/p>\n

The kid “adored” McDonald’s, pizza, and “… “She was always talking and smiling, and she had an insatiable appetite for ice cream,” a relative recounted. She met many new pals during her time there.<\/p>\n
